About “Arctic chill”

In this 2005 crime novel, Reykjavik police are called to a block of flats on an icy January day where the body of a young, dark-skinned boy is found frozen to the ground with a stab wound. Detective Erlendur and his team investigate, with little to go on but news that the boy's Thai half-brother is missing, uncovering tensions in Iceland's outwardly liberal, multicultural society, including anti-immigration attitudes and a suspected paedophile in the area, while the case forces Erlendur to confront tragedy in his own past.
