About “Burnt Island”
Set in the remote Scilly Isles, the novel follows Deputy Chief of Police Ben Kitto as he investigates a murder during the island community of St Agnes’s annual Fifth-of-November celebration. A charred body is discovered on the bonfire just before the fireworks, prompting Ben to quarantine the island’s eighty residents and uncover a motive tied to the preservation of local traditions. As threats written in the old Cornish language appear, Ben races to expose the killer before another fire is lit.
