About “Vegetable duck”
Vegetable Duck is a 1944 detective novel by John Rhode, the pen name of British author Cecil Street. It is the fortieth book in the series featuring Lancelot Priestley, a classic armchair detective. The title refers to a dish made of a Marrow stuffed with minced beef, which plays a role in the story. The novel has been called "one of the oddest titles for a detective novel in the genre." Written during wartime, the story is set in a post-war environment. It was published in the United States by Dodd Mead under the title Too Many Suspects.
