About “The Dragon and the George”

Jim Eckert, a human man, becomes a dragon after using an astral-projection machine to rescue his betrothed, Angie. He ends up trapped in the body of a talking dragon named Gorbash. Angie, however, remains a human, referred to as a "george" by dragons. In this magical world, where spells work and logic is absent, dragons are powerful and humans are seen as food. Angie has been captured by an evil dragon and is held in the Loathly Tower. Jim must find a way to save her despite his new form and the dangers of the land. The story is a 1976 novel by Gordon R. Dickson.
