Evernight is a series of five vampire-based romantic fantasy novels by Claudia Gray. The story follows Bianca Olivier, a 16-year-old half-vampire girl born to two vampires. She is sent to Evernight Academy, a private boarding school for vampires, to fulfill her destiny of becoming a full vampire, though she feels out of place. At the school, she meets Lucas Ross, a human who also feels he doesn't belong. Their relationship deepens, but it becomes forbidden when Bianca's vampire nature and Lucas's secret membership in the ancient vampire-hunting group Black Cross are revealed.
