This 2009 encyclopedia, the first on the Ottoman Empire available in English, is a collaborative work by 90 experts offering more than 400 A-to-Z entries on major events, personalities, institutions, and terms. It includes about 85 black-and-white photographs and maps, cross-references, a chronology, glossary, bibliography, and index covering the Ottomans' nearly three-century rule and their lasting legacy.
