About “The Scandal of Father Brown”

Father Brown is a fictional Roman Catholic priest and amateur detective who appears in 53 short stories by G.K. Chesterton, published between 1910 and 1936. He solves mysteries and crimes through his intuition and deep understanding of human nature. The character was loosely based on the Rt Rev. Msgr. John O'Connor, a parish priest in Bradford who played a role in Chesterton's conversion to Catholicism in 1922.
