Foreigner is a science fiction novel by C. J. Cherryh. It tells the story of humans stranded on an alien planet where registered assassination is a way of life; descendants of a spaceship that lost its way 500 years earlier, they live on an island and their only contact with the mainland is through one human, the foreigner of the title.
