Six-year-old Holly stopped speaking after losing her mother Victoria one rain-slicked night. Her uncle Mark Nolan, following his sister's will, resolves to make Holly's life whole again, while toy shop owner Maggie Collins, who doesn't dare believe in love again after losing her husband, sees in Holly a girl in need of a little magic, and three lonely people discover Christmas can make wishes find their way home.
