About “Thirteenth Child”

Eff was born as the thirteenth child in a large family. Her twin brother, Lan, is the seventh son of a seventh son, which is believed to grant him extraordinary talent. In contrast, Eff is thought to bring misfortune to her family and town. Despite this, her family moves to the frontier, where her father will work as a professor of magic at a school located near the magical divide that separates settlers from wild creatures.
