Kate Welles wants the lead role in her school's Christmas play, The 12 Screams of Christmas, but her annoying "friend" Courtney keeps getting in the way. The two must get along or neither will be allowed to take part. Their teacher decides they need a special place to rehearse: a house with a lot of history, one that Kate would normally be frightened to enter and that gives new meaning to the term "Christmas Spirit."
