As the Green Star Rises is a 1975 novel by Lin Carter, the pen name of Linwood Vrooman Carter, an American author of science fiction and fantasy who also worked as an editor and critic. Known pseudonyms of his include H. P. Lowcraft and Grail Undwin; in the 1970s he edited the Ballantine Adult Fantasy series, which introduced readers to many overlooked classics of the fantasy genre.
