About “The Housemaid”

Every day, a housekeeper cleans the Winchester family's home, picks up their daughter from school, and prepares meals for the family before eating alone in her small room on the top floor. She tries to ignore the wife, Nina, who creates messes just to watch her clean, and the lies she tells about her daughter. She also notices that the husband, Andrew, seems increasingly troubled. Despite this, she is drawn to his pain and the life he seems to have. She once wears one of Nina’s white dresses, but Nina discovers the secret. By the time the housekeeper realizes her attic room door only locks from the outside, it is too late. She tells herself the Winchesters don’t know who she really is or what she is capable of.
