About “Salvation in Death”

In the year 2060, Detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas investigates the murder of Father Miguel Flores, who dies after drinking wine laced with potassium cyanide during a Catholic funeral mass. The wine was consecrated, adding a religious element to the crime. Eve, uncomfortable with the holy environment of St. Christobal’s, begins her investigation. A search of the priest’s room reveals a hidden religious medal with an unknown inscription and underlined Bible passages. The autopsy shows the victim had scars from knife wounds, a removed tattoo, and signs of plastic surgery, suggesting he was not who he claimed to be. As Eve uncovers identity theft, gang ties, and personal revenge, she believes she is close to solving the case. However, a second murder during a mass disrupts her progress, forcing her to reconsider who is behind the killings and why.
