About “Jack Carter's law”
Jack Carter's Law is a 1974 British crime novel by Ted Lewis. It serves as a prequel to his earlier work Jack's Return Home (1970), which was adapted into the film Get Carter in 1971. The story follows Jack Carter on Christmas Eve, when he discovers a supergrass is about to betray him and his associates to the police. This betrayal threatens to send them to prison for long periods. Carter sets out to find the informer, but the task proves more dangerous than he expected.
