The Day of Reckoning is part of Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, a series of Star Wars young reader novels published between 1999 and 2002 and primarily written by Jude Watson, though its first book was by Dave Wolverton. The series follows young Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Master Qui-Gon Jinn before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and targets children aged 9 through 12 while also drawing older readers.
