"John Dies at the End" was originally released as an online serial and received more than 70,000 downloads. It was described as a "Horrortacular," combining humor and horror. The book sold an additional 60,000 copies in all formats. The sequel, "This Book Is Full of Spiders," follows David and John as they face horrifying and ridiculous events caused by their own incompetence. They believe books and movies about zombies triggered a zombie apocalypse, even though no zombies exist. They try to protect humanity from its own fear, but discover shape-shifting horrors are secretly taking over the world. The story is both funny and terrifying, following two midwestern slackers who would rather do anything than stop the apocalypse.
