Vickie Preston, who survived a serial killer's attack as a teenager and has seen ghosts since, is drawn into an investigation when Boston women are kidnapped and buried alive by a killer called the Undertaker, who leaves clues about their location, one mentioning Vickie's name. She sees the spirit of a victim in dreams, while FBI agent Griffin Price of the Krewe of Hunters feels protective of her due to their shared past.
