Danish is a North Germanic language within the Indo-European language family, spoken by approximately 5.5 million people, primarily in Denmark and surrounding regions. It is also spoken in Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and the southern German region of Southern Schleswig, where it holds minority language status, as well as in smaller communities across Norway, Sweden, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Argentina.
