Left Behind is a multimedia franchise of apocalyptic fiction written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, published by Tyndale House Publishers from 1995 to 2007. The novels are Christian eschatological stories based on LaHaye's interpretation of the Book of Revelation. They describe the rapture of Christian believers before a seven-year period called the Great Tribulation. The original 12 books focus on this conflict. The Antichrist rises to power, establishes a new world order, and oppresses Christian converts, forcing them into hiding until Jesus returns. The series concludes with a thousand years of peace.
