Leviathan is a novel by Scott Westerfeld. Alek, a prince without a throne on the run with a fighting machine and a small band of men, and Deryn, a girl disguised as a guy in the British Air Service, are thrown together aboard the airship Leviathan, fighting on opposing sides -- British fabricated beasts versus German steam-powered war machines.
