About “The Chessmen”

Ex-Detective Inspector Fin McLeod, living again on the Isle of Lewis and working as a security officer, discovers a light aircraft at the bottom of a spontaneously drained loch while investigating illegal activity on a local landowner's estate. Investigating with the elusive poacher and former childhood friend Whistler Macaskill, they witness a 'Bog Burst' that drains the loch, revealing the body of Roddy Mackenzie, a friend whose flight disappeared more than seventeen years before. This is a sequel to The Lewis Man.
