About “Life class”

In the Spring of 1914, a group of students at the Slade School of Art attend a life-drawing class, where Paul Tarrant becomes attracted to fellow student Elinor Brooke. As the summer progresses and war begins, Paul becomes involved with an artist's model, while Elinor and Paul each face personal crises, ultimately turning to each other at the start of the war; Paul later joins the Belgian Red Cross and serves in Ypres, returning home changed by his experiences.
