Justice Hall is the sixth book in the Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes series by Laurie R. King. After returning from solving the mystery of The Moor, Holmes and Russell are approached by a bloodied man who asks for their help. He tells them about Marsh Hughenfort, the younger brother of the Duke of Beauville, who has returned to England after his brother's death. Marsh is determined to uncover the truth about the death of the hall's expected heir, a mystery he believes only Holmes and Russell can solve. The mystery dates back to the Great War of 1918, when Gabriel Hughenfort, the late Duke's son, died under mysterious and scandalous circumstances. While Holmes investigates Gabriel's war record in London, Russell attends a shooting party. A missing diary, stolen letters, and a series of clues lead them on a journey from an English hamlet to Paris and the American prairie. As the mystery unfolds, Holmes and Russell must outwit an elusive villain before becoming his next targets.
