About “Home to Roost”
"Home to Roost" is a Nero Wolfe mystery novella by Rex Stout, originally published in 1952 as "Nero Wolfe and the Communist Killer" in The American Magazine. It was later included in the short-story collection Triple Jeopardy, published by Viking Press in the same year. The story reflects Stout's opposition to Communism and McCarthyism, alongside his 1949 novel The Second Confession. The novella follows the detective Nero Wolfe as he investigates a murder, using his sharp intellect and the help of his assistant, Archie Goodwin. Stout's work is known for its complex plots and social commentary. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
