About “Toki Pona”
Toki Pona is a constructed language created by Canadian translator and polyglot Sonja Lang. Designed with a small vocabulary and focus on simplicity, it was intended to simplify thought and communication. The first drafts were published online in 2001, and the complete version was released in a 2014 book titled Toki Pona: The Language of Good. A dictionary was published in July 2021, documenting the language as used by its community. In 2024, a third book was released, an adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written in Toki Pona.
