Olive Kitteridge is a series of two interconnected story collections by Elizabeth Strout centered on the title character, a retired schoolteacher in the fictional coastal town of Crosby, Maine. The first book, published in 2007, won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and comprises 13 interrelated but narratively discontinuous stories, with Olive appearing as a main character in some and in others as a lesser or cameo figure. Six of the stories had been previously published in periodicals between 1992 and 2007. The second book in the series was published in 2019. The first book was adapted into an HBO miniseries in 2014.
