About “The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit”

The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit is a children’s book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. It was first published by Frederick Warne & Co. in December 1906. The story follows a bad little rabbit who takes another rabbit’s carrot and loses his tail and whiskers after being shot by a hunter. The book was meant for babies and very young children. It was originally published on a folded strip of paper that fit into a wallet and was tied with a ribbon. This format did not appeal to booksellers, so it was later reprinted in the standard small book format of the Peter Rabbit series. The book introduced young readers to the Peter Rabbit universe and helped them learn about books. Few copies of the original version remain. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
