About “Stolen prey”

In the small Minnesota town of Deephaven, an entire family is killed, husband, wife, two daughters, and dogs, in a scene that pokes at Lucas Davenport's cop instincts as resembling scorched-earth drug-related retribution. But the upscale town and the husband's position as a bank executive vice president make that theory seem not to fit, until it does, leading Lucas into the darkest nightmare of his life.
