About “Psycho II”
Psycho II is a 1982 novel written by Robert Bloch as a sequel to his 1959 novel Psycho. The story follows Norman Bates, the motel manager with a troubled past, who escapes from a psychiatric facility and returns to the spotlight. He travels to Hollywood, where a film about his life is being made. The novel was written before the 1983 film of the same name, which tells a different story. Universal Pictures disliked the novel, which was meant to criticize horror films. Bloch refused to abandon the project and published it, achieving good sales.
