About “The Traitor”
The Traitor, an 1907 novel by Thomas Dixon Jr. and third in the Trilogy of Reconstruction, follows Southern aristocrat John Graham as he fights to protect his family's honor while trapped between feuding Klan members and carpetbaggers. It depicts the fall of the Ku Klux Klan following Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest's order to dissolve it, set in North Carolina's Piedmont foothills.
