Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, attends the unveiling of a groundbreaking discovery at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. The event is hosted by his friend and former student, Edmond Kirsch, a controversial tech magnate. Kirsch claims to reveal a scientific breakthrough that could change human understanding. However, the evening is interrupted when the event is disrupted before his discovery is made public. With his life in danger, Langdon escapes with the museum's director, Ambra Vidal. Together, they travel to Barcelona in search of a password that will unlock Kirsch's secret. Along the way, they face dangerous opponents and must decipher ancient symbols and modern art to uncover a hidden truth.
