About “Raiders of the Nile”

In 88 B.C., the world is on the brink of war, from Rome to Greece and Egypt. Gordianus, a young Roman living in Alexandria, makes a living solving puzzles and finding things for pay. He spends his time with his slave, Bethesda, hoping for peace. On his 22nd birthday, Bethesda is kidnapped by brigands who mistake her for a rich man's mistress. To save her, Gordianus must track down the kidnappers before they realize their mistake and decide to kill her. Using skills learned from his father, he attempts to negotiate her release. As Alexandria descends into chaos and rumors of an invasion spread, Gordianus becomes involved in a dangerous plot: the theft of the golden sarcophagus of Alexander the Great.
