About “The Quest Begins”

Three bears from different species—black, polar, and grizzly—are separated from their families as cubs and must survive in the wilderness. Each faces challenges alone but is brought together on a dangerous journey by a shape-shifting grizzly cub whose fate is connected to theirs. Their path includes thrilling adventures and hardships, leading them toward an uncertain future. The story is the first in a series titled The Quest Begins, followed by Great Bear Lake, Smoke Mountain, The Last Wilderness, Fire in the Sky, and Spirits in the Stars. The novel was published in 2008 by Erin Hunter.
