About “Data”

A data center is a physical facility designed for the storage, management, and dissemination of data and information, including supporting artificial intelligence training and housing IT infrastructure and computer systems. Defined by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, it encompasses free-standing structures or parts of larger buildings equipped with environmental controls to maintain proper conditions for electronic equipment. The concept dates back to the 1940s, with the U.S. military's ENIAC serving as an early example.
