When the Borg destroyed the U.S.S. Saratoga at Wolf 359, Captain Sisko lost his wife, marking the end of a chapter in his life. The U.S.S. Defiant carries the survivors of the Saratoga to a Starfleet ceremony, bringing back painful memories for Sisko. His bittersweet reunion with former crewmates is interrupted when a malfunction threatens the Defiant and the lives of those aboard.
