Federation President Nanietta Bacco brings together allies and enemies to prepare for a Borg invasion on Earth. Meanwhile, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Captain Ezri Dax work to block the Borg's path to the Alpha Quadrant. On the other side of the galaxy, Captain William Riker and the crew of the starship Titan meet the Caeliar, a group of survivors from a past cosmic disaster that created a time loop. The Caeliar have remained isolated, considering human life insignificant. However, their view may change as they face the determination of humans. The story explores the clash between advanced beings and human resilience.
