About “Probe”
Probe is an epic novel that continues the story of the USS Enterprise and her crew after the events of Star Trek IV. It focuses on the mysterious probe that nearly destroyed Earth and its sudden return, placing Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and the crew in great danger. The story takes place against a backdrop of political change in the galaxy, as the Romulan Empire faces chaos following the death of its praetor. Representatives from the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Empire meet on a small planet to discuss peace, but the conference is interrupted by a defection. Meanwhile, the reappearance of the probe in Romulan space sends the Enterprise on a mission that leads to a final confrontation with both the probe and the Romulan Empire.
