About “Crossover”

"Crossover" is a Star Trek novel written by Michael Jan Friedman. It follows Starfleet Ambassador Spock as he works to unite the Romulan Empire and Vulcan, both of which have roots in the same ancient race. A secret movement seeks to bring the two together, but a Romulan spy infiltrates the group. Spock and his students are taken hostage. Starfleet sends the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D and Captain Jean-Luc Picard to rescue them. Dr. McCoy, Spock's former shipmate, also joins the effort. Meanwhile, Captain Scott takes matters into his own hands and attempts a rescue. Picard must navigate dangerous Romulan politics to prevent a war and protect the Federation.
