About “I, Q”

I, Q is a 1999 Star Trek novel written by John de Lancie and Peter David. Set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe, the story follows Q, who teams up with Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Lieutenant Commander Data to save his wife and son and prevent the end of the universe. It is the first novel to explore Q's role as a father. John de Lancie, who portrayed Q in several Star Trek television series, was the only Next Generation actor to write a novel based on his character. The book was co-authored by Peter David.
