In 1989, Peter David wrote a novel set in the Star Trek universe. The story takes place in the uncharted regions of the galaxy, where the Kreel, a primitive and warlike race, discover powerful weapons. They use these weapons to attack the Klingons, their long-time enemies. Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise are sent to mediate the conflict. Their mission is to transport diplomatic teams from both races to a mysterious planet where the weapons were found. The goal is to find a peaceful resolution and uncover the origin of the powerful weapons.
