David Sherman and Dan Cragg return with another installment of their space epic Starfist, following the Marines of the Confederation's Thirty-fourth Fleet Initial Strike Team (FIST) as they fight the Skinks, a deadly alien species. Planet Haulover has been invaded, and the Confederation is forced to reveal its secret threat to the public. The Skinks have a complex tunnel system and are well-entrenched, making the mission extremely difficult. The military sends four army divisions and two Marine FISTs, but they are outnumbered. Back home, the Confederation's president faces political backlash for the campaign. Lieutenant Charlie Bass and his third platoon face dangerous missions, including raiding Skink bases and destroying their weapons, all while trying to stay alive.
