The Rose Field is the concluding volume in Philip Pullman’s Book of Dust series. It follows Lyra Belacqua, who is alone in the ruins of a deserted city after her dæmon, Pantalaimon, leaves her. Lyra travels the world in search of her dæmon, while Malcolm searches for her along the Silk Roads. Their journeys bring them together in a dangerous and transformative quest. They rely on spies, thieves, gryphons, and witches, uncovering the truths of the alethiometer. As they move east toward a red building that promises answers, the Magisterium wages war against everything Lyra values. The novel marks thirty years since Lyra’s debut in Northern Lights and concludes the Book of Dust saga.
