About “The Illearth war”

In 1979, the Del Rey paperback edition of a 1978 novel by Stephen R. Donaldson was published. The story follows Thomas Covenant, who is summoned back to the Land, a world of magic and earthpower. Upon his return, he discovers that forty years have passed while Lord Foul, the Land's immortal enemy, has been working to fulfill a prophecy of destruction. Foul's forces, led by a Giant Raver, are advancing, and only Hile Troy, an exile from the real world, stands against them. The Council of Lords is powerless because Foul controls the Illearth Stone, a source of ancient evil. High Lord Elena turns to Covenant and the magic of his ring, but Covenant remains the Unbeliever, unable to accept the Land as real. No one knows how to use the white gold, including Covenant himself.
