Holmes and Watson learn he was once a scientist from Miskatonic University and one of two survivors of a failed voyage down the Miskatonic River to capture a shoggoth. When the man is taken from Bedlam by unknown forces, the detectives realize the case is far more complex than it seems. To uncover the truth, they must discover what happened during the voyage and who is behind the monstrous events.
