About “The Wind Through the Keyhole”

Roland Deschain is sent by his father to investigate reports of a murderous shape shifter known as a "skin man." He takes charge of Bill Streeter, a young boy who survived the creature's latest attack. Despite being only a teenager himself, Roland comforts Bill by telling him a story from the Magic Tales of the Eld, a collection his mother used to read to him. The story, "The Wind through the Keyhole," offers the boy some reassurance. This novel is set between Dark Tower IV and Dark Tower V.
