In ancient times, sorcerers searched for the One True Spell, a powerful magic that would grant them control over the world and complete understanding of magic. According to legend, the One True Spell was a woman named Mystra, whose kisses were said to be wonderful. This tale is told by Priest Havilon Tharnstar in Tales Told to a Blind Wizard. Set before the rise of Myth Drannor, the story takes place in the Heartlands, where barbarians and dragons dominate. Elminster, a young shepherd, is suddenly drawn into a world of danger, corruption, and magic when a dragon-riding magelord appears. Through determination and effort, Elminster works to transform the world, ultimately becoming a powerful mage.
