About “War Against the Mafia”
The first book in The Executioner series, written by Don Pendleton, introduces Mack Bolan, a soldier returning from Vietnam on compassionate leave after his father's death. Determined to avenge his father, who was killed by mafia loan sharks, Bolan becomes a lone warrior against the Mafia. Pendleton wrote 37 of the first 38 books in the series before licensing the rights to Gold Eagle, which continued the series with ghostwriters under the name Mack Bolan. Pendleton wrote only two of the later books before his death in 1995. This novel marks the beginning of one of the longest-running action series in literature.
