Aeschylus's only surviving trilogy traces a cycle of bloodshed and justice across three plays. It begins with Agamemnon's return from Troy to a wife who has long plotted his murder, follows his children Orestes and Electra as they avenge him, and ends with Orestes pursued by the Furies until the gods establish a court of law.
