Battle for the Abyss by Ben Counter is a novel in the Horus Heresy series that centers on the lead-up to a Traitor invasion of Ultramar, the home world of the Ultramarines. The story follows the Loyalist Fleet Commander Cestus and the 7th Company of the Ultramarines as they pursue the massive Traitor warship Furious Abyss, commanded by Fleet Captain Zadkiel, to prevent it from reaching Macragge and aiding the invasion.
